Danny Gatton’s second Elektra release, recorded at Big Mo Studios in Wheaton, Maryland, Bias Studios in Springfield, Virginia, and Sorcerer Studios in New York City. The album finds Gatton moving away from the all instrumental approach of 88 Elmira St. for a mostly instrumental release with select vocal tracks featuring Delbert McClinton, Rodney Crowell, and Billy Windsor. Spans rockabilly, country rock, and blues across twelve tracks, including “Funhouse,” “Harlem Nocturne,” “Sky King,” and an Elvis-style Sun Medley. Backed by John Previti on bass, Shannon Ford and Tim Biery on drums, Bill Hollomon on saxophone, trumpet, and keyboards, and Tommy Lepson on organ.
